The PREP project brings electricity to the village - in dialogue with the villagers

Through PREP Nkhotakota, Kumudzi Kuwale is piloting different technical and finacial models to reach out to people with no access to electricity today. The project is expected to have positive effects on health, environment, education, business and women empowerment.

 

Four village battery charging stations have been constructed and been in operation for more than a year.. The stations were constructed and planned in close collaboration with the locals, and has brought employment to local villagers.

 

At the same time, the PREP project is also bringing solar lights and lanterns to the people other places in the Nkhotakota region, and payment structures to reduce the impact of the high investment that solar power is are implemented..
